Trackmaster were engaged to survey and line mark the newly resurfaced elite level competition and warm up tracks at the Qatar Sports Club in Doha, ensuring IAAF Class 1 certification would be achieved in time for the 2019 IAAF World Championships.

The Qatar Sports Club’s new Rekortan tracks (main stadium track and warm up track) was installed by Polytan Agent Bilal Al Abdallah, of Waves Trading & Contracting W.L.L, an experienced firm who have completed more than 20 tracks in the region in recent years. 

IAAF CLASS 1 CERTIFICATION

As of 2020, Trackmasters have been responsible for the certification of over 40% of the worlds Class 1 athletics tracks.  All athletics tracks intended for use in international competition must conform to the stringent requirements for accurate measurement as stated in the World Athletics rules and in the Track and Field Facilities Manual. 

TRACKMASTER SCOPE OF WORKS

Trackmaster were engaged to survey and line mark the new facilities, ensuring an IAAF measurement report would be compliant in order to achieve a Class 1 certification, enabling international competition to be held at Qatar Sports Club.

ADDITIONAL PROJECT DETAILS

The entire project including the construction stage was completed in record time with the intention to be used for the IAAF World Championships to serve as training tracks. The entire project was completed in just 2.5 months, instead of the normal 6 month time frame which was achieved by 120 people working onsite 24 hours a day!
